The Club Today

Lamorinda RFC is one of the largest youth rugby clubs in the Bay Area. The club has a boys high school program, a girls middle and high school program and a mixed youth program.

The high school program consists of a Varsity "A" side, a Varsity "B" side and a Junior Varsity side.  The high school program is competitive and the club has been ranked as high as #5 in the nation.

The youth program is designed to provide an introduction to the sport and foster a long-standing love of the game. More-complicated elements of the full game are gradually introduced. The program is designed for girls aged 6 -12 and boys aged 6 -14. We have four age groups: U8s, U10s, U12s & U14/MS. The groups are further divided by weight & ability to prevent injuries.

The girls program caters to both middle schoolers and high schoolers.  Our ladies team is very competitive in both the traditional 15s version and 7s version of the game.

The club has its practices at Wilder fields in Orinda and other selected elementary and middle schools in the area. Practices are mostly held on weekday evenings and occasionally on the weekend, depending on the match schedule.

The match schedule varies by program. Matches are played against other rugby clubs either at home (Wilder) or away (at their club ground).  Youth matches are generally against other Bay Area clubs, High School matches can be against teams from further afield.

Further details can be found on the individual team pages, through our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds and elsewhere on this website.
